'Opera Through The Flowers'

Walk through the celebrated and beautiful ‘Field of Dreams’ with over two acres of wildflower varieties from all over the world and then join us to experience some of the most popular pieces from your favourite operas and musicals. You will be delighted with singers from English National Opera, Covent Garden and International Opera houses who will entertain you with world class performances. Bring your own picnic, drinks, rugs and chairs (seating not provided). Free car park and disabled parking.
This event promises to have something for everyone. For both the lifelong opera lover or the novice, this programme fully staged will contain a feast of opera’s most inspiring music that will create a positive and lasting memory.
The programme in the first half includes such gems as: “Nessun Dorma” the “Lakme” duet, the “Pearl Fishers” duet, the “Rigoletto Quartet” “Largo al Factotum” from the Barber of Seville and many others.
The second half includes “Champagne” from Die Fledermaus, Gershwin melodies, Bernstein’s West Side story and a popular medley from the Gilbert & Sullivan operas, interspersed with informative and comic anecdotes.
This programme encompasses some of the most frequently requested pieces on Classic FM.
  Jeremy Silver - Musical Director/Conductor
Jeremy Silver was principal conductor of Opera Africa whose productions included La Traviata, Rigoletto, Lucia di Lammemoor and many more. British Operatic highlights include Pelleas et Melisande, Madame Butterfly, Nozze di Figaro, the three Mozart/Da Ponte operas and Carmen to name a few. He has been a member of the music staff at Scottish Opera, English Naional Opera and Glyndebourne and is currently Assistent Head of Music at the National Opera Studio.
 Quentin Hayes - Baritone
Quentin studied at Dartington Arts College and the Guildhall  School of Music. From 1999 to 2004 he was on contract at the Royal Opera House. Since winning the VARA Dutch Radio Prize at the Belvedere Singing Competition, Vienna, subsequent appearances at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw have included War Requiem, Elijah, Saint François d’Assise, The Bassarids and the Rape of Lucretia. Operatic roles in The Magic Flute, Life with an Idiot, Katya Kabanova, Peter Grimes, Lohengrin,Turandot, Madam Butterfly, Bohème, Tosca, Billy Budd, Rigoletto and many more. 
 Niamh Kelly - Mezzo-Soprano
Niamh graduated with a BA hons degree in music and then attended the Royal Northern College of Music and achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance with Distinction. The first recipient of English Touring Opera's Chris Ball Arts Bursary Niamh's operatic performances include; The Marriage of Figaro, Midsummer Nights Dream, The Magic Flute, Riders to the Sea, Carmen and many others.
 Daniel Meads - Tenor
Trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the Royal Colleage of Music. Daniel's has played many operatic roles in Tosca, Die Zauberflote, Carmen, L'Elisir d'Amore, La Traviata, La Boheme and many more. Daniel has worked for the English Touring Opera, English Pocket Opera, Scottish Opera-go-round, Diva Opera, Opera and Concert Management Worldwide and the London Opera players to name but a few.
  Amanda Buckland - Soprano
Amanda studied at the Guildhall School of Music and spent years studying Opera and Italian in Rome. She has sung as a soloist at all the major Concert Halls in London including the South Bank and the Royal Albert Hall. Amanda was co-founder of Opera Brava, teaches singing at Ardingly College and is singing advisor at the Gielgud Academy of Performing Arts.
